About Mohika:
Mohika is from Budwada Village in Tapi District of Gujarat. Her village has about two hundred huts made of blue tarp and sticks. They all sleep on the bare dirt floor. In the rainy season, these huts are usually blown away and the villagers take shelter in other near by villages. Mohika is the eldest of two girls and her parents left them in search for work in other villages. She is left at the mercy of her distant relatives who are laborers too. Mohika is forced into child labor by grazing cows and calves. She loves to go to school and in the future hope to own a shop in the city.
