About Azad:
Azad’s name means “freedom”. He is from the Juna Amalpada Village in Tapi District, Gujarat State. This village is very isolated and difficult to reach. He is the youngest of two and his parents were daily wage laborers. They eventually abandoned him in search of work in neighboring villages and has never heard from them again. He was left at the mercy of the villagers. When/if he is able to attend school, can only do so 3 days out of the month. He wants to get a good education and hopes to become a teacher or cricket player.
